Future Towns Theory

The Future Town: A New View of Architecture and Town Planning

The background of project goes back eleven years to 1995, where the first thinking took place about what kind of disasters we might face in the future. Subsequent years allowed the development of the theory of the Future Towns brand. It proposed that such buildings must be part of an organic growth with people realising how exposed they are to disasters and allow market forces to determine the rate at which such buildings come about. It also discusses what design features are needed for each individual challenge.

Utopianism and the Sixth Mass Extinction.

The next document discusses all the overriding theory of disaster proof living and why humanity must change to survive in "normal" conditions, i.e. that disasters are a major part of earthís history and as a consequence are part of the development of mankind in our shared history and in our future.

The Frequency, Impact and Type of Disaster

This short document discusses the frequency and scale of disasters that modern humanity has faced in the last one hundred years or so. It sets the scene of the regularly of such disasters and could argue that we ainít seen nothin' yet.
